OEM document checklist
Halal OEM: prepare the right project documents.
A useful documentation plan connects the selected formula and manufacturing site with your brand and destination. Identify which records the manufacturer supplies and which steps your brand, importer or adviser owns.
Agree on the roles before collecting documents.
| Party | Information or decision to agree |
|---|---|
| Brand owner | Product identity, claims, packaging, destination and the authorised brand/artwork |
| Manufacturer | Formula version, manufacturing site, ingredient/supplier records and agreed product specification |
| Halal body or relevant authority | Applicable scope, change review and certification or recognition steps |
| Importer / local responsible party | Destination registration or notification, labels, imports and applicable local responsibilities |
Manufacturer-side document checklist.
- Current original certificate and the relevant product annex
- Exact holder, manufacturing address and covered activity
- Product and formula identity, ingredient sourcing and change history
- Approved specification, packaging and artwork
- Agreed test scope, batch records and shipment documents
Review formula and ingredient changes early.
A different ingredient source, formula, brand or production site can change the scope review. Animal-derived or fermentation-derived ingredients need the relevant sourcing information; a fashionable ingredient name does not establish Halal or vegan status.
Connect Halal records to the destination plan.
For Indonesia, agree on who handles local product-market registration, labels and importer requirements alongside the Halal work. For Malaysia, review the current foreign certification-body recognition and relevant scope. For Saudi Arabia, the UAE and other destinations, bring the buyer’s or importer’s own checklist into the project review.
